The Curaçao Hospitality & Tourism Association (CHATA) represents, protects, promotes, informs and educates its members to enable them to achieve their business objectives.

Primary Goals for 2019

  • Growing Visitor Spending while focusing on achieving higher ADR/REVPAR.
  • Advocate for the restructuring of CTB to a Curaçao Tourism Authority.
  • Increase Arrivals with growth in Airlift from North & South America while maintaining our current air service in Europe.
  • Increase collaboration with CTB and government officials on areas affecting tourism.
  • To be an effective public policy voice for membership.
  • To be our members’ primary resource for quality and professional membership services, industry information and analysis.
  • To find cost effective ways to invest in the development of our human capital and to further create awareness and provide education on tourism to our children from an early age in partnership with stakeholders.

Annual report

CHATA’s Annual Report is a comprehensive report on our CHATA activities & accomplishments throughout the preceding year. The CHATA Annual report is intended to give both CHATA members, non-members and other interested partners information about the activities and financial performance of our association.

The Curaçao Hotel Association was established on April 3, 1967. In 1982 the Constitution was amended to change the name to Curaçao Hotel and Tourism Association (CHATA), to allow the participation of non-hotel tourism partners.

In 1998 the name was changed to Curaçao Hospitality And Tourism Association (CHATA) to illustrate the development of the association towards becoming the representative organization for the entire hospitality and tourism industry in Curaçao.

At present, CHATA’s membership includes hotels and apartments, airlines, car rentals, restaurants, touroperators and destination management, attractions, the airport, the ports authority and ports services, industry and trade development, World Trade Center, advertising and publishing, banking, insurance, training and consultancy, resort development, dive operators, shops and other tourism related businesses.
