Another Successful Edition of Flavors of Curaçao

Willemstad (November 2nd, 2016) – After several months of immense dedication and preparation, the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) successfully organized the island’s largest culinary festival, Flavors of Curaçao on the 28th and 29th of October. The first day was a ‘Burger Night’ while the second day was a traditional culinary festival.

CHATA looks back on a well-attended event at Piscadera Village. This edition of Flavors of Curaçao attracted more than 2200 visitors whom enjoyed creative and mouthwatering culinary delicacies. CHATA is happy to have received praise from participating restaurants and attendees to the event.

Wednesday through Sunday, the Hilton parking lot was converted into Piscadera Village, a village where Curaçao’s largest open air Culinary Festival, would be hosted. 30 of Curaçao’s most prestigious restaurants participated. CHATA is extremely pleased with Flavors of Curaçao’s success and is highly appreciative of all support given by the Flavors of Curaçao sponsors, and the participating restaurants that had to deliver on the promise of serving delicious food.

Burger Night

The first night of Flavors of Curaçao was highlighted by the Burger Night where a panel of food experts awarded different winners. The most Creative Burger went to Didis Cakes with their Chocolate Vanilla Burger, the Flavors’ Specialty Burger went to Twizt Catering with their Bao with Hoisin Glazed Pork Belly Burger, the most Buzz (Talked About) Burger is shared between Spice Girl with their Lionfish Burger and the Academy Hotel with their Conch Burger and last but not least the most Out-of-the-box Burger award went to BijBlauw with their Chocolate Cheese Burger.

Flavors of Curaçao is a fundraising event, allowing CHATA to fund language courses, culinary educational programs and awareness creation campaigns scheduled for next year. CHATA President & CEO, Lizanne Dindial, reflects upon Flavors of Curaçao’s continued success and states, “I can proudly say that CHATA has done It again. We successfully perfected a proven concept; CHATA organized the island’s largest culinary event for the second time with more than 2200 visitors, this is surely a worthy addition to our already diverse tourism product.” CHATA continues its growth by constantly introducing a variety of new programs, concepts, ideas and strategies. These are all efforts in line with the Tourism Master Plan with the ultimate goal of making Curaçao the number one Caribbean destination.
