Willemstad, 6 March 2017 – As of today Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort’s presents it’s second and latest CSO, Chief Sports Officer, Didi Gregorius.
CSO
The shortstop of the New York Yankees, as Chief Sport Officer, is sharing positive character and sporting performance with the management team, staff and partners of Blue Bay. Additionally he will represent the many sporting events that Blue Bay organizes and supports. Gregorius will be present a couple of weeks per year in Curaçao and during this period he will be working with Sepp Koster (CEO), Walter Hofstede (CDO) and Rogier van der Meer (CCO).
In November last year, Blue Bay resort presented its first CSO, the fastest man of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Churandy Martina, as Chief Smile Officer. Last year, both CSOs met for the first time during the Curaçao Baseball Week, and the agreements were enormous. There was an instant click and respect for each other’s performance and way of working, which is professional sport at its best.
Sport
Rogier van der Meer, Chief Commerce Officer of Blue Bay: “We believe in the similarities between running a business and sport. Didi is our top sport, an athlete who puts everything aside to achieve the best and highest. Focused on success, willingness to learn every day and is only satisfied with the highest podium. A nice link to the objectives of our resort. ”
Baseball and Golf
Didi Gregorius, the brand new Chief Sports Officer: “I am very excited to realize the next steps of Blue Bay with the management team of Blue Bay, Churandy Martina and all other employees. Focus on the goal you want to achieve and be determined will be some of the things I would like to share. I feel at home with a sports-minded institution such as Blue Bay and I’m ready for this new challenge. ”
On March 7, Didi will be playing his first match with Dutch Kingdom team during the World Baseball Classic in 2017 against Korea. The other two matches will be played in the first round against Chinese Taipei and Israel. All colleagues at Blue Bay will be paying extra interest in this tournament, where the best countries in the world come together.
Gregorius has been a big fan of golf and can regularly be found on the golf course at Blue Bay. There are similarities between golf and baseball, and that is reflected in Gregorius’s swing . After the end of the season in 2017, Gregorius will be able to make a bid for his first victory in one of the Blue Bay golf tournaments.
