CAP provides update during its Annual Press Conference

During its Annual Press Conference, Curaçao Airport Partners gave a presentation to the audience which included an update on performance, Complimenting Tourism Initiatives, Improvements 2015 – 2016 and the plans for 2017 – 2018.

CAP explained how they stimulate awareness together on short term by engaging in Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives. These include support of ‘Right now in Curaçao’ Campaign, online campaigns, road shows, and more.

Moreover, the improvements of the airport were also a topic during the presentation. In 2016, CAP introduced the Immigration E-gates making the Airport one of the first airports in the region. Other improvements included the new arrivals hall, the new car rentals counters and new F&B options.

This year, the new parking systems will be installed. CAP is switching over to a new parking system for Curaçao International Airport, and has chosen the company that produced the parking facilities at Schiphol, Zurich Airport and London Heathrow Airport. CAP will start implementing the new system by the end of March.

Other projects planned for 2017-2018 to further improve our airport include; a new baggage screening machine, approach lights, new CCTV system, new fire truck, solar park, Jet Centre hangar for parking private aircraft, upgraded toilets, and more.

The terminal expansion plan is on track and is planned to be finished in September 2018. This expansion will double the departure area, will add a gate for the largest planes in the world, will add a food court to the departure area, ensure faster processes and add the coolest Mirador in the region.
