Willemstad (Curaçao), 5th of November 2017 – On behalf as former CBW main organizer Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort donated NAf. 8.250,- (U$D 4.580,-) to the Curaçao RBI League. This donation arises from the CBW charity auction dinner last December 2016. The Curaçao Baseball Development Foundation (CBDF) and Fundashon pa Nan (FPN) will use the amount to realize the RBI competition. This competition is an initiative from Major League Baseball (MLB) and is played by 16 teams, 270 players (8 teams in the Junior League, 8 in the Senior League). Every Saturday and Sunday baseball talents compete on the fields of the Tio Daou Ballpark and Syborg. The finals are on Sunday, December 10.
Auction dinner
During the biggest yearly baseball event of Curaçao, very special baseball and non-baseball collector’s items were auctioned at the charity dinner. Eventually, CBW raised Naf. 77.400,- (U$D 43.000,-) at the auction and NAf. 8.250,- (U$D 4.580,-) benefits the RBI Curaçao. The donations to FDDK and CBDF already accomplished. Also, the MLB Kids Trip to Miami took place last August.
RBI
‘On behalf of the RBI Curaçao board, we would like to thank the Curaçao Baseball Week and Blue Bay for this donation. Baseball talent development plays a very important role on our island. Thanks to the restart of the RBI competition, 270 players are able to stay in competition until December. Of course, we are also looking forward to the regional 2018 RBI tournament in probably Miami. Blue Bay
‘We look back to four beautiful and successful CBW years, in which the promotion of the Curaçao baseball sport and giving back to the local community always played a central role. Raising money for the baseball community also has been an added value in the total concept, since the first edition in 2013. On behalf of Blue Bay and as former CBW main organizer, we gladly help RBI Curaçao to restart their competition after 1 year of absence.
