CBW talents experienced Miami Marlins vs. San Francisco Giants

The eleven kids winners of the Curaçao Baseball Week 2016 experienced the long awaited MLB game: Miami Marlins vs. San Francisco Giants last week. Kymani Martijn, Keshore Hinkel, Nathan Castillo, Thaima Maximiliana, Ruchano Petronia, Jamdrick Cornelia, Charlie Zink, Gedionne Marlin, Lutson Pieters, Jakey Josepha and Rodolfo Rodriquez flew with Pawa Dominicana to Miami, to witness the major league players in real life.

Last Monday afternoon the kids (accompanied with one parent), organization and other group members checked in at the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel and enjoyed a group dinner in the city afterwards. The atmosphere was great from the beginning that led to a strong family bond.

On Tuesday, ‘Manager Guest Services’ Cristina Corpion of the Marlins welcomed the delegation at the 3rd base entrance. Led by Cristina everyone enjoyed a tour thru the entire stadium and many sights were visited. After the tour the exciting moment dawned and Hensley ‘BAM BAM’ Meulens welcomed the group personally on the field! The warm-up and batting practice from the Giants were literally followed closely. Many signatures were handed out and the great Giants coaches and players: Ron Wotus, Jeff Samardzija en Denard Span were met personally. A unforgettable and unique experience for the kids, parents and organization.

There were many highlights during the game, including several home runs of players: Posey, Pence, Denard, Stanton, Ozuna, Yelich and many hits. Eventually the Giants won their second game after 9 innings with a score of 9-4. After the night stay in the hotel the juniors happily returned to Curaçao and learned new lessons, which they will use in their development to become the best in baseball.
