CHATA Padel Tournament 2026 Powered by MCIS Successfully Combines Team Bonding, Networking and Sustainability

Willemstad, May 13, 2026 – The Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association proudly reflects on a highly successful first edition of the CHATA Padel Tournament 2026, powered by MCIS, where more than 60 teams representing over 50 companies came together during a vibrant three-day event focused on connection, collaboration, sportsmanship, and sustainability.

Held at Padel X from May 7 through May 9, the tournament welcomed more than 250 visitors daily and created an energetic atmosphere where professionals from across the hospitality and tourism sector, along with partners from various industries, had the opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, network, and build camaraderie outside the traditional work environment.

CHATA strongly believes that a healthy and connected sector is built not only through meetings and strategy discussions, but also through moments that bring people together in a positive and informal setting. The event highlighted the importance of team bonding, collaboration, and maintaining strong industry relationships while embracing the philosophy that the sector works hard, but also values moments of connection and enjoyment together.

Beyond the courts, the tournament also carried an important purpose. Through the support of participating teams, sponsors, and partners, the event successfully raised ANG 3,000 for sustainability initiatives connected to the hospitality and tourism sector.

As part of its long-term commitment to sustainable tourism development, CHATA continues to actively work through its Sustainability Task Force on various sustainability-related priorities and resolutions in close collaboration with the Curaçao Tourist Board, the Ministry of Economic Development, and Carmabi. These initiatives focus on strengthening awareness, collaboration, and practical action surrounding sustainability within the destination and the hospitality industry.

The Sustainability Task Force is led by Averilette Francis, General Manager of Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort, whose leadership and dedication continue to play an important role in advancing sustainability discussions and initiatives within the sector.

CEO Anuschka Cova expressed on behalf of the Board of CHATA, how proud she is of the incredible turnout and energy surrounding the tournament. “We originally aimed for 50 teams and ended up with 66 teams, plus a waiting list. That truly shows that hospitality cares, hospitality connects, and hospitality rocks!”

Special thanks to MCIS, where Director Robertico Betrian gave inspiring words during the final day of the tournament, highlighting the importance of connection, collaboration, wellness, and continued private sector engagement. We are also excited that MCIS has already confirmed its intention to participate again next year, making this only the beginning of what promises to become a strong and recurring industry tradition. Stay tuned.

CHATA would also like to thank all participating companies, sponsors, members, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the incredible atmosphere and strong turnout throughout the tournament.
