CHATA’s Stars of the Industry Event Bigger Than Ever – Powered by ENNIA A Night of Celebration and Appreciation

Willemstad, Curaçao,  May 16, 2025, In a vibrant evening filled with pride and gratitude, CHATA hosted its largest Stars of the Industry – Powered by ENNIA celebration yet at Mondi Beach Club. With over 150 guests in attendance, the event recognized 95 outstanding employees from across the hospitality and service sector for their dedication, excellence, and impact.

The atmosphere was festive and full of appreciation, with all nominees receiving official certificates in front of their peers and leadership teams. This year’s Top 3 Stars—Carlos Koeks, Maintenance Technician II (Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort), Ronairis Troeman, Housekeeping Office Coordinator (LionsDive Beach Resort), and Karin Richardson, Housekeeping Supervisor Resort (Papagayo Beach Resort)—were given an extra surprise: a full year of car insurance courtesy of ENNIA, as a symbol of appreciation for going above and beyond in their roles and being nominated more than once. This generous gesture reflects ENNIA’s slogan, “Committed to the community,” and their continued support for local talent and excellence. All winners were also awarded a beautiful Chichi® sculpture by Serena’s Art Factory, reflecting the vibrant spirit of Curaçao’s talent.

In addition to hospitality leaders, CHATA Board Members Robbin Vogels (Avila Beach Hotel), Thomas Van Balveren (Hyatt Inclusive Collection), and Jaime Osma (Kontiki Beach Resort Curaçao) were in attendance to support their teams. The celebration was further strengthened by the presence of Human Resource Managers from the CHATA HR Task Force, led by Ana Teresa Carcamo (Kontiki), who joined in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of their colleagues.

CHATA CEO Anuschka Cova highlighted the importance of employee recognition in strengthening the sector:

“These Stars are the core of our success in hospitality. We remain committed to honoring them not just once, but continuously—through events like this and more to come.”

This marks the first official edition of Stars of the Industry – Powered by ENNIA, following the announcement of the new partnership earlier this year. With ENNIA as the title sponsor, the event now has even greater potential to elevate the recognition of local talent.

Lesley-Ann Harms-Brodie, CEO of ENNIA, expressed her gratitude for being part of this meaningful initiative:

“Supporting Stars of the Industry reflects ENNIA’s mission of commitment to our community. It is a privilege to give back to the professionals who power Curaçao’s economy every day.”

CHATA thanks its title partner ENNIA for their unwavering support, as well as the many hotels, restaurants, and business partners who contributed prizes and helped create a memorable evening. Together, we continue to shine a spotlight on excellence and build a stronger, more motivated industry—one star at a time.
