CHATA’s Stars of the Industry – Powered by ENNIA, A Night of Celebration and Appreciation

Willemstad, Curaçao, November 21, 2025 –  In a vibrant evening filled with pride and gratitude, Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association hosted their second Stars of the Industry – Powered by ENNIA celebration at Landhuis Vredenberg. With more than 150 guests in attendance, the event recognized 97 outstanding employees from across the hospitality and service sector for their dedication, excellence, and impact.

The atmosphere was festive and full of appreciation, with all nominees receiving official certificates in front of their peers and leadership teams. This event also highlighted the Top three Stars of the Industry winners. Riangelo Jansen of Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort, Rougenka Stein of Papagayo Beach Hotel and Resort Curaçao, and David Munera of Rilèks Beach Bar and Rooftop were given a special surprise. Each received a full year of car insurance, courtesy of ENNIA, as a symbol of appreciation for going above and beyond and being nominated more than once. This generous gesture reflects ENNIA’s slogan, “Committed to the community,” and their continued support for local talent.

In addition to hospitality leaders, Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association Board Members Thomas Van Balveren of Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Averilette Francis of Renaissance, Mimi Luttge of LionsDive, Jeffrey Speelman of Sandals, Peggy Croes of CAP and Jaime Osma of The Kontiki were present to support their teams. The celebration was further strengthened by the presence of Human Resource Managers from the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association Human Resources Task Force, led by Simone Garbelmann of LionsDive, who joined in recognizing the achievements of their colleagues.

Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association Chief Executive Officer Anuschka Cova highlighted the importance of employee recognition in strengthening the sector. She also mentioned that the salary survey recently completed by the Association shows a significant improvement and a positive upward trend. Although the sector is not where it aims to be, efforts will continue to ensure further progress and better conditions for all employees.

“These Stars are the core of our success in hospitality. We remain committed to honoring them continuously through events like this and many more to come.”

This was the second edition of Stars of the Industry – Powered by ENNIA, following the announcement of the new partnership earlier this year. With ENNIA as the title sponsor, the event continues to grow in impact and reach.

Lesley Ann Harms Brodie, Chief Executive Officer of ENNIA, expressed how important it is for ENNIA to contribute to moments like this. She emphasized that people are the most important factor in hospitality and shared how proud ENNIA is to collaborate in recognizing and uplifting the individuals who represent the most important pillar of Curaçao’s economy.

Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association extends its appreciation to ENNIA for their unwavering support, as well as to Confetti and Company and the many hotels, restaurants, and business partners who contributed prizes and helped create a memorable evening. Together, we continue to shine a spotlight on excellence and build a stronger, more motivated sector one star at a time.
