Curaçao Present at ITB 2018: World’s Leading Travel Trade Fair

WILLEMSTAD – March 8, 2018 – A team from Curaçao, consisting of representatives of the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) and Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) and accompanied by private-sector partners are currently in Germany, participating in the Internationale Tourismus Börse (ITB) 2018 trade fair, one of the main trade platforms for the tourism industry. Curaçao’s main objective for participating is to increase awareness for Curaçao, agree new contracts and strengthen business developments. The fair, held at Messe, Berlin, started on March 7 and will continue until the 11th of this month. The yearly event attracts over 120,000 trade visitors as well as 50,000 more from the general public, making it the largest trade fair in the world.

A Meet & Greet event was held by the Curaçao team together with the airline Condor on the first day, where they met with the press and trade partners to celebrate the new collaboration between Curaçao and Condor, which will be introducing direct flights to Curaçao from Frankfurt, Germany, in the winter of 2018/19. “We are honored to have Condor as our partner for nonstop flights to Curaçao from Frankfurt,” said Muryad de Bruin, CTB Marketing Manager for the European region. “Only by working together like we have been doing, will we reach positive results for Curaçao and all stakeholders.”

According to Condor’s representative, Mr. Benjamin Weidmann: “We are very happy to add Curaçao to our portfolio as a 5-star destination, which will hopefully be the start of a long lasting partnership.”

Curaçao swings add a fun and relaxing element to the booth. Partners and consumers are able to take pictures on the swings and post these online with the #CuracaoITB2018 hashtag to participate in a raffle to win a trip to Curaçao for two with Condor and stay at the Papagayo Beach Hotel.

The CTB and CHATA wishes to thank the private-sector partners who went along as part of the Curaçao team: Avila Beach Hotel, Acoya Hotel Suites & Villas, Morena Eco Resort Curaçao, Lions Dive Beach Resort, Papagayo Beach Resort, Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, Kontiki Beach Resort, Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino, Rancho El Sobrino Resort, Dolphin Suites Curaçao, Sonesta Kura Hulanda Village & Spa, Hilton Curaçao, Mondi Lodge and Kunuku Aqua Resort.
