Willemstad, (August 16, 2017) –CHATA is proud to announce the launch of several language courses in Spanish, Portuguese and German, through its CHATA Academy. As a
result of the success of last year CHATA is committed to continue with the program.
In its efforts to increase the language proficiency in the tourism sector, the CHATA Academy
will provide language courses to tourism professionals in Curaçao. Through these courses
CHATA wants to equip our tourism professionals with the necessary tools to provide a
better experience to our visitors by being able to speak their native language. In 2016
CHATA provided courses in German, Spanish and Portuguese. Last year over 50 participants
enrolled in the various language courses. CHATA is committed to continue working on the
development of our human capital and therefore, it is sure to continue with the courses in
2017 as well.
CHATA chose to provide courses in German, Spanish and Portuguese in order to comply
with the demand of our German and Latin American visitors. As a destination it is essential
to have skilled communicators to enhance our tourist experience on our island. Should
there be demand for other languages as well, CHATA will take this into consideration for the
upcoming years and consequently enlarge the program.
