Scuba Lodge donates over $11,000 to CARF and GreenKidz

WILLEMSTAD- January 9, 2019 – Boutique Hotel Scuba Lodge has donated a check worth $1,632 to Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF) and a check worth $1,332 to GreenKidz. In 2018, Scuba Lodge donated a total of $11,071 to the two foundations.

Over the past year, Scuba Lodge has asked every guest at check-out which foundation they wanted to support. For every night spent at Scuba Lodge, one dollar goes to charity. This has been part of the ‘Dollar a Night’ program that Scuba Lodge launched two years ago. To this very day, CARF and GreenKidz have been receiving donations from Scuba Lodge every quarter.

“What a nice gesture! We are very pleased with the involvement of Scuba Lodge and her guests in helping the stray dogs in Curaçao. Without this financial support we could not do much for the stray dogs,” said Sylvia Minten, volunteer at CARF.

Maya Mathias of GreenKidz also speaks about the donations: “It is fantastic how Scuba Lodge has supported us the last two years. With this donation, once again, we as a foundation can teach our children about recycling, composting and respecting the environment in a playful manner.

Christina Sieperda, General Manager of Scuba Lodge: “Both CARF and GreenKidz are positively contributing to our island and we are proud to support these foundations. Our hotel guests respond very positively to our Dollar-a-Night program and believe it is nice to be able to contribute to an animal-friendly or cleaner Curaçao. Therefore, we have decided to continue with the Dollar-a-Night program in 2019. As a small boutique hotel, we are not affiliated with a large chain, but that does not mean that we cannot make a difference!”

In 2017, Scuba Lodge already donated $10,182 to CARF and GreenKidz through the Dollar-a-Night program.
