Willemstad, August 16th 2018 – The Curaçao Culinary Team 2018 visited the Council of Ministers were they were thanked for their impeccable performance at the Taste of the Caribbean 2018 competition. The whole team received a token of appreciation from the prime minister Mr. Eugene Rhuggenaath in the presence of all the members of the Government.
According to the Prime-Minister, Mr. Rhuggenaath: “Curaçao is very grateful for the
outstanding performance of the team. The team did an impeccable job at representing the
island and at highlighting our island’s culinary offering. Through the team’s participation at
the Taste of the Caribbean Competition, Curaçao received a lot of positive exposure and
more people got to know just how rich Curaçao is from a cultural & culinary perspective. Let
these young professionals serve as a role model to our youth and challenge them to
showcase their skills. This can help promote Curaçao abroad as well as enhance the tourist
experience right here on the island.”
The Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Martina, also agreed with the Prime Minister
and thanked the team for contributing to the betterment and further development of the
Tourism industry. According to Dr. Martina: “Our Tourism Industry is on the good path and
with the help of young & talented locals such as the Curaçao Culinary Team we can
unquestionably achieve a more elevated Tourism industry.”

part of the Curaçao Culinary Team 2019. If you got the necessary skills and the passion for
bartending or cooking then CHATA encourages you to come to the Island Job Fair this
Saturday, August 18th at Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino between 11 AM and 6
PM. There you will be able to receive all information regarding the team from the Gold Medal
Bartender Jurnick Merced and even sign up right away to join the team.
