Call out to Members Task Forces

CHATA is reintroducing the TaskForces!

With our visitor base steadily increasing by approximately 60,000 visitors per month, the opportunities for our sector and for Curaçao as a whole are abundant. While this growth is exciting, it’s imperative that we approach sustainability and product placement proactively. That’s why CHATA is bringing back the Task Forces, dedicated to shaping product development and marketing strategies alongside CTB, aimed at boosting visibility and visitor engagement, and gathering insights from industry experts to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market.

Each Task Force will unite CHATA members and relevant stakeholders to address the unique challenges and opportunities within their sector. CHATA members will play a pivotal role in shaping specific offerings and products/services, aligning our offerings with a forward-looking vision for the future of the Hospitality sector in Curaçao, all done responsibly.

The TaskForces that will be established are as follows:

– Restaurants

– Diving

– Sport Tourism

– Wellness/Medical Tourism

– Culinary Tourism

– Tour Operators

– Experiences/Attractions

– Festivals

– Boutique Hotels & Apartments

– Culture, Art & Heritage

– Sustainability

– MICE

– HR (already established)

HR taskforce

The HR TaskForce has been established and hosted two meetings at CHATA. Due to the successful growth of tourism on the island, the HR TaskForce made it known that the sector will be 900-1000 vacancies in the hospitality industry by 2027. To achieve this, the HR taskforce is currently working on setting up a ‘dashboard’ for CHATA Members to match employees with vacancies within the membership’s organization. More information will follow regarding this development.

Dive Taskforce

Meetings on Diving Task Force We recently conducted two important meetings focused on the Diving Task Force. The first meeting included various representatives from the diving sector, and the second was held with Casha, Gerlinde Berckmoes, Hans Pleij and Saskia Ost. During these discussions, we highlighted the critical importance of safety and regulations within the diving industry. Collaboration was a key theme, and it was agreed that CHATA and Casha will work closely together on this task force. CHATA will introduce experts, including diving doctors, to the team to ensure comprehensive safety measures. Given the sector’s growth, it is essential to safeguard it through stringent safety protocols and collaborative efforts. These meetings underscore our commitment to maintaining high standards and fostering cooperation within the diving community.
