CHATA Attends the CHTA Marketplace 2024

CHATA Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association was honored to participate in both the CHTA Marketplace 42 and the 3rd Annual Caribbean Travel Forum in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The CHTA Marketplace gathered over 1,000 delegates from more than 40 countries, with media coverage reaching over 400 million people.

Over the course of three eventful days, we engaged in numerous productive meetings with global tour operators, data companies, travel agencies, and hotel representatives. We were able to showcase our island CURAÇAO and the magnificent Hotels, tours, restaurants and activities that we can offer. It was particularly rewarding to connect with our counterparts from Bonaire, Aruba, SXM, and the wider Caribbean region. We were delighted to collaborate with the Curaçao Tourism Board and our local hotels that were present at the conference: Lions Dive Hotel, Corendon Hotel, Marriott Hotel, Renaissance Hotel and Hyatt Hotels.

The 3rd Annual Caribbean Travel Forum was also a highlight of the week, featuring insightful presentations and panel discussions on Caribbean tourism performance, emerging trends, and future prospects. We had the honor of meeting the Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, Hon. Mr. Edmund Bartlett, and Hon. Kenneth Bryan, Ministry of Tourism and Ports, and Chairman of CTO, gaining valuable insights from their speeches on tourism trends, opportunities, and challenges.

CHTA President Nicola Madden-Greig presented key findings from the joint ForwardKeys and CHTA Caribbean Trends Report, which highlighted that international arrivals are projected to surpass 2019 levels by 13% in the first half of 2024—an encouraging milestone for our region. Additionally, several important reports were launched, including the Artificial Intelligence Transformation Guide for Caribbean Tourism, the Caribbean Tourism Industry Performance and Outlook Report, and the Caribbean Construction Pipeline Report. These reports, spearheaded by CHTA’s Technology Task Force, will be available to our online community following the CHTA Marketplace event.
