CHATA welcomes new Board Member Maylin Trenidad

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new member to our board of directors at CHATA. Maylin Trenidad representing the Renaissance Curaçao joins the CHATA Board as of May 1^st, 2017 for a term of 1 year.Ms. Trenidad joins the board in the position that was until recently held by Mr. Darren Law representing Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort. Mr. Law has resigned from the CHATA board of directors due to a new career opportunity abroad. His resignation was submitted and accepted by the CHATA Board and is effective as of April 30^th, 2017.

Consistent with our bylaws (article 7), In a case of interim resignation, the vacancy has been filled on the proposal of the Board and with written notice to the membership. With this said, the board has decided to fill in the vacant position by making use of the results of the last CHATA board of Directors elections that was held on February 7^th, 2017.

The vacant seat has been appointed by the CHATA board of directors after having evaluated the number of votes and the next in line to join one of the eight hotel board positions.

The Board would like to thank Mr. Darren Law for his support and commitment and wish him all the best for the future.

CHATA Chairman, Cedric Nubul welcomes Ms. Trenidad and looks forward to working with her in developing our tourism industry but also growing our association.

General Manager of the Curaçao Renaissance Resort & Casino since the start of the resort in 2007. Prior to this role, she was the opening General Manager of the Courtyard Marriott in Trinidad & Tobago. While in Trinidad served on the board of the T&T Hotel Association and the T&T Hotel & Tourism Institute. She was recognized by Marriott International as the Opening Courtyard International General Manager of the year 2004.  She also held Senior Management positions at the St. Kitts Marriott, Curaçao Marriott and Curaçao Sonesta and Director of Sales for many years at the Sonesta and Caribbean Hotel.
