Successful Job Fair by Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association

The Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) is thrilled to announce the resounding success of the Job Fair held yesterday, July 6th, at Sambil Curaçao. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 22 companies across various sectors within the hospitality industry, all eager to recruit local talent.

CHATA’s CEO, Anuschka Cova, has frequently emphasized the ambitious expansion plans of the hospitality sector, with projections to add 4,000 rooms by 2026. This growth necessitates the hiring of over 3,000 new employees, in addition to tour operators and activity coordinators, restaurants, retailers amongst others. In light of this, CHATA and its member companies are committed to maximizing local employment and enhancing educational opportunities through comprehensive training programs.

The Job Fair, which ran from 9 AM to 7 PM, attracted over 600 attendees, showcasing the vibrant interest in hospitality careers. The participating companies excelled in presenting their job opportunities, using interactive methods such as informational booths, games, and prizes to engage with potential employees. The event also featured a booth from the Ministry of Social Development, Labor, and Welfare (SOAW), providing valuable information to job seekers.

A highlight of CHATA’s recent initiatives is the sponsorship program for students pursuing degrees in Hospitality, reinforcing our commitment to developing a skilled local workforce.

CHATA extends heartfelt gratitude to its dedicated team for organizing this remarkable event, to the HR Taskforce for their content contributions, and to all participating companies for their unwavering dedication. The success of this Job Fair underscores the potential for it to become an annual fixture, further supporting the growth and sustainability of Curaçao’s hospitality sector.
